Port Birthday Hamburg 2007

The RNARS London HMS "Belfast" Group met in Hamburg for the world's biggest regular port festival, the 818^th Birthday of the Port of Hamburg.

The weather was kind on Sunday. At bright sunshine nothing could prevent us from taking a double-decker bus for a city tour.

Thirsty for action again after the good meal, we set out for the Landungsbrücken, moved over into one of the open launch boats and found ourselves in a first class position to watch the vessels passing by in the world’s outstanding Departure Parade.

A great parade came to an end, thus finishing the 818^th Port Birthday Hamburg too.

For dinner altogether we were walking through the city. In the Arcades we encountered another Hamburg specialty, the Brauhaus Albrecht.
